Fullstack Security Engineer

At Handy, security is tightly woven into product and infrastructure development. We challenge our teams to build systems that are secure-by-default to protect our users’ most sensitive data. You will be joining a team of engineers who will champion security initiatives throughout the organization. You will be building tools to make secure-by-default easy. You will be conducting regular audits/tests to identify risks and prioritizing fixes for the identified risks. You will continue to raise the bar to make our systems secure.
What you will do:
Nurture and grow a culture of security through automation, awareness, and training
Continue to improve enforcement of our infosec policies and the policies themselves
Actively involve in the design and implementation of applications, services, and infrastructure to ensure secure design principles are being followed
Regularly audit application and infrastructure code to detect security risks
Create awareness of security risks, best practices, and provide frequent education to the organization
Design tooling to make adoption of security best practices easier and idiomatic to business and engineering workflows
Who you are:
You have 2-3 years of experience working on a security team supporting product, cloud infrastructure, and corporate infrastructure development
You have in-depth knowledge of security threats, applied cryptography, and risk assessment
You have software engineering experience and an engineering mindset for building reliable, maintainable security infrastructure to support a large organization and CI/CD software engineering practices
You have experience working with product development teams to empower them on advancing security initiatives
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
Willingness to learn and apply new skills and technologies

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, implement and ship new features. Work with outside data sources and APIs
Focus on innovating and creating solutions that add value and amaze the end user
Contribute to code quality by writing Unit, UI, and Integration tests
Enforce code styles and best practices via code reviews and mentorship

Prior work in an Agile environment (Scrum preferred)
Knowledge of web services, specifically REST APIs
Hands-on experience building Web Apps from initial concept to production ready
Work with Web Apps that integrate with custom native APIs is preferred
Experience building and shipping non-trivial applications of at least reasonable complexity
Strong analytical and technical skills and high level of detail-orientation

Senior Full Stack Developer/Architect

Our cutting-edge solutions are used to detect earthquakes worldwide, track food supply chain, manage national water quality, and manage defense logistics worldwide.
Summary of Role
Synergetics is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our team and be available for different clients. This is a remote role with some on site work in the Denver area. We are looking for an individual who is an independent worker, can keep up with dynamic customer needs, has exceptional problem solving skills, and comfortable with identifying and assisting pursuit in potential areas of growth for customers and for Synergetics. This is an excellent opportunity for innovative Senior Developers yearning for the authority to design and build solutions with autonomy and lead junior developers while retaining design, development, and integration technical responsibilities.
Ability to multitask and take on new technologies.
Experience in an infrastructure, integration and full stack development across technologies and structures.
Good knowledge of application development using Agile and DevOps best practices
Experience with a highly available and scalable SaaS.
Strong technical foundation in Microsoft technologies
Technical knowledge to recommend and/or make decisions on the best solution.
Experience with CI/CD tools
Experience with Docker or other containerization tools
Strong scripting skills required: Python, Shell, etc
Experience supporting multi-vendor technology solutions, especially with Amazon and Microsoft cloud solutions (i.e. AWS and Azure)

Evaluate current development and operations procedures, recommend and implement tools and practices to increase efficiency, reliability and repeatability.
Operational review of cloud architecture with the goal of automating and improving the existing and future environments.
Create workflows using best practices for configuration management/source control, continuous integration, build pipelines, and release pipelines
Maintain strong expertise and knowledge of current and emerging technologies and products
Provide best practices, recommendations and guidance for use of the cloud in general
Troubleshooting complex systems in Dev, Test, and production environments
Create resolutions and recommendations based on incident investigations to provide greater protection and stability to the organization
Develop excellent working relationship with peers across sites and multiple vendors, ensuring to contribute and adhere to best practices
Lead the diagnosis of complex problems with our products and recommend solutions with minimal oversight
