Success in this particular role does require in-depth knowledge of the Sitecore CMS in order to maintain and enhance a collection of sites, as well as an expectation to help mentor and train other experienced Developers on Sitecore specifics. Long-term opportunities working with alternative technologies are expected.

Required Skills and Professional Experience

  • 3+ years expertise and direct development experience with SiteCore CMS

  • 3+ years experience developing web applications with:

    • NET, C#, MVC

    • JavaScript, HTML, CSS

    • Source control such as GIT or SVN, jQuery

Bonus Points

  • Experience with a front end rendering technology (React, Angular, Vue)

  • API development and familiarity with REST design principles

  • Experience developing large scale SASS applications

    As a Software Engineer, you will be a key member of the Web & Mobile Development team working with John Hancock’s Brand and Marketing Web teams and others supporting various John Hancock web properties utilizing the Adobe Experience Manager platform. The team is looking to quickly build out and evolve into a Center of Excellence in support of enterprise branding initiatives.

    You will collaborate with Designers, Engineers, Product Owners, Content Authors and IT partners to iterate on design, development and implementation in support of our web-platform and initiatives.

    Who you are

    • You have DevOps experience including use of tools such as GIThub, Maven and Jenkins preferred.

    • You have knowledge of JCR (or other content repositories) and OSGI framework highly desirable

    • You are able to solve problems creatively and effectively; experience in building prototype; experiment with new technologies. Experience as a hands-on Solutions Architect strongly preferred.

    • You have worked in an Agile environment – Scrum or Kan Ban. Pair Programming a plus.

    • Work closely with a team of engineers, business stakeholders and other IT resources to design and buildout a shared content delivery platform (AEM) utilizing a responsive mobile-first approach to the development

    • Develop choices around component design and services to promote re-use with the flexibility needed for cross-site teams to create an experience that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

    • Develop clean, maintainable, readable code that is scalable and secure. Participate in pair programming, design and/or code reviews to ensure the same.

    • Design and develops services, templates, components and workflows to deliver the desired functionality as communicated by the product owners and designers.

    • Develop choices around service design to promote re-use with the flexibility needed for cross-site teams to create the functionality that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

    • Resolve issues surrounding performance, response times, capacity and system limitations.
