Lead Fullstack Engineer

DESCRIPTION

Our Fullstack Engineer is one of the critical leaders of our Platform Engineering team in creating modular, scalable and efficient client web applications. As a member of a rapidly expanding organization our Fullstack Engineer will need to be able to cross boundaries easily and work collegiately with other highly effective individuals. Defining the problem, creating a roadmap and executing to achieve results is crucial. This is an exceedingly challenging role, but as a result the opportunity to learn and make a difference is incredibly high.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to all parts of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. The following skill sets provide a good foundation for a quick ramp up to being productive in our Javascript, Webpack and cloud-based environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on a full-stack rapid-cycle analytic application

  • Develop highly performant and scalable components able to handle large amounts of data

  • Assess where we need to build custom UI components versus externally available libraries

  • Collaborate closely with our product, design and science teams to understand the needs of our clients

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience as a full stack or front end developer, along with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Node.js

  • In-depth knowledge of RESTful API design

  • Experience working with distributed, service oriented systems

  • Deep expertise working with a client facing web stack

  • Experience with Java or similar object-oriented programming language

  • Experience in performance optimization

  • High proficiency with front-end frameworks such as React/Redux, Angular or similar

  • Agile Methodology experience including extreme programming (XP) practices, such as pair programming and TDD/BDD

  • Have product sense to drive an excellent customer experience, continually raising the bar on functionality, usability and simplicity
