What we are looking for?

We are adding a Senior Full-stack Engineer to the team. As a member of the team, you will get a chance to develop complex web applications, using a mix of Javascript (React) and Python. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys the challenge and responsibility for large projects.

What does senior mean? For us, we are a company that doesn’t hire based on years of experience or credentials. In order to be senior, we are looking for an engineer that can provide technical mentorship to our team and can work on complex technical projects with little to no direction.

Who We Are

At its core, Inverge is a platform that helps brands and wholesalers connect with their retailers and gives everyone the tools they need to sell more easily and efficiently.

Our users are able to have one tool to get their products in the hands of customers anywhere they are with minimal effort. They can dive in deep and run every aspect of their business or just use a single piece. This could be a brand connecting to thousands of retailers across the country for both drop shipping and replenishment, sharing a single uniform catalog, managing all of their warehousing and fulfillment for orders coming from any channel; be that a retailer, B2B website, marketplace, or B2C website. This could also be a small store looking to simplify its inventory management and understand its customers better.

Our existing team is composed of three founders. All are based in the areas surrounding New York City.

Since our soft launch, we’ve been able to attract well-known brands and as we gear up for a formal launch and an aggressive marketing/sales initiative, we’re expanding our team.

The job will start full-time and from the beginning you’ll be working closely with the CTO to be trained on the usage of the in-house built PHP MVC dependency injection framework that the main application is built on. Once a fundamental understanding is reached, you’ll jump right in on projects that need to be addressed right away which will grow in complexity as their experience grows.

This hire we’re making will be the second technical member on the team and will play a critical role in the initial growth of the company. You’ll be working with the entire founding team but primarily with the CTO.

In the beginning, you’ll be working primarily with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery. This will transition into primarily Node.js and Serverless Framework replacing the PHP. To a lesser extent at the beginning, you will also be working with React and React Native. You will be building on AWS using EC2, RDS, Elasticache, Lambda, and API Gateway. The collaboration will happen using Git (Bitbucket), Jira, and Trello.

Our day-to-day direct communication is through Slack and email. We manage projects and the roadmap using Trello and Jira. We manage the codebase using Bitbucket.

The start date is as soon as possible. We are beginning to scale and need to grow our team to continue the development of and maintain our current platform.

Projects and Day to Day Work

There is a significant amount of autonomy. There are clear goals and priorities but the actual implementation and timing are flexible. For the most part, our new hire is expected to be self-motivated and complete their work. You’ll have access to the rest of the team as needed but shouldn’t expect to be babysat as long as their work is being completed.

A majority of your time initially will be spent working on the existing PHP/MySQL application. We have many features that need to be added on an ongoing basis. There are also numerous areas that need optimization or tweaks to simplify support. This will range from developing stand-alone applications such as activity tracking across the entire application to adding an interface for changing the comparison date on a sales dashboard to debugging image ordering in existing API integration to developing an entirely new API integration for managing products, inventory, and orders. That initial work will transition to developing these features in the serverless architecture using Node.js.

We are in the process of exposing the entire application via API. A major part of this role will be assisting in this transition, slowly swapping out the PHP backend with a new implementation in Node.js. You would be expected to have good fundamentals and ability to code in PHP but primarily be experienced in and interested in Node development.

Long Term and Growth

In the long term, this person will be managing a team, setting priorities, and overseeing development.

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of languages and frameworks. You will not be expected to know everything but show a track record of being curious and wanting to learn. There will be a lot of opportunities to find the projects that you find the most interesting, be it integrating with different APIs or optimizing AWS infrastructure, or developing Native modules. You are coming into a company with a solid foundation at a time when everything is being looked at for improvement. You will hopefully have a huge say in how things are structured and how projects are prioritized.

We're introducing a new role for a Senior Software Engineer (Growth). The role will be perfect for an experienced full stack software engineer who has an analytical bent and enjoys working on business, UX, and optimisation problems with a data-driven experimental approach.

The successful candidate will contribute to Shorthand's Growth function, taking the lead on implementing growth experiments and testing new onboarding flows for our SaaS platform. The objectives of the growth experiments will be to improve the product onboarding experience, website design, and human onboarding touchpoints for maximum user satisfaction and retention.

The Role

We tend to do things a little differently at Shorthand. For one thing, we're a small, fully remote team distributed around the world --- and have been fully remote for over three years. You'll be working from home, or from a coworking location of your choice. You'll be based somewhere in South-East Queensland or a compatible timezone.

As Senior Software Engineer (Growth), you'll play a critical role in formulating and executing agile yet rigorous growth experiments aimed at improving the onboarding and retention of satisfied users. You'll work closely with the other members of the Growth team to identify and test key hypotheses. You'll help put in place the software frameworks and tool integrations needed to:

  • carry out split testing and other experiments,
  • collect product and marketing analytics, and
  • support customer-facing teams with better workflows for sales and marketing activities, onboarding new users and identifying at-risk accounts.

The stack

Likvido is a (very) fast-growing startup. We are around 60 employees now, and we are aiming for a series A funding to realize our huuuuge ambitions for the coming years.

We are now looking for a skilled full stack .NET developer that can impact our products and become a part of our remote tech Likvido family.

Let's face it: accounting sucks. Entering data into a stupid system? Sending invoices? Trying to get the last decimals to match so your auditor doesn’t scream at you?

We would prefer spending time with family or friends. The same goes for our customers.

At Likvido we are automating accounting for our customers. We do this by having a super awesome product that helps you:

  • Send “smart invoices” that reconcile themselves
  • Send automatic reminders for invoices that go unpaid
  • Pay your bills in Likvido so you don’t have to go to your bank (and the bills of course reconcile themselves)
  • Automatically scan all your receipts and bills so you don’t have to enter data again
  • Get paid if an invoice has not been paid on time through our debt collection system

So to summarize what Likvido is doing:
We are letting you focus on what matters, instead of spending time on boring administrative work.

Tech stack

Our main application is a web application, where our customers can interact with the product. This web application consists of a VueJS frontend and an API - using the Backend For Frontend (BFF) approach. This means we are evolving the frontend and API in a symbiosis, where the API requests are tailored to the exact use-cases of the frontend. The styling of the frontend is a custommade look built with Sass and designed by our in-house UX/UI designer in cooperation with Studio Skulptur: https://www.studioskulptur.com/likvido. The API is running on .NET 5 and written in C#, but we also have a legacy ASP.NET MVC application running on old .NET framework - which we are in the process of getting rid of.

We run all of our services in Microsoft Azure. The most recent services are running on AKS (Azure Kubernetes Services), and the legacy services are running on App Service. Our goal is to move everything to AKS. All of our source code is hosted on Github and we use Github Actions to deploy our services to AKS. We deploy to production at least once per day.

We use SQL Server and Azure Blobs for our data storage needs. We might introduce MongoDB or CosmosDB for specific use cases, as we are generally very open to adopting new technologies, whenever they provide some nice improvements over our current stack.

Our general architecture is to build bounded contexts, with a number of services and databases inside each context. The services are small and scalable, and we use both queues, event grids and HTTP APIs for communicating between services.

You will join our current team, consisting of 9 developers, both frontend and full stack developers, plus a product team with UX/UI designers and product managers. We expect you to participate in the whole product workflow - from idea to production. You will help build new features, do code reviews, make releases, and make sure your features work and continue to work in production. You will also help us push forward our technical stack and infrastructure, to improve the performance, availability and scalability of our products.

Responsibilities

Being a Full Stack Developer at Likvido, your job is to improve our product and build great technical solutions!

Day-to-day that means:

  • Implement new features (C# + JavaScript)
  • Help maintain our current products
  • Actively participate in team meetings, discussing product feature improvements as well as technical issues and improvements
  • Make code-reviews and be responsible for the features you build
  • Help push forward our platform and codebase, to make sure it is easy to maintain and performs well

An Engineer’s Environment

Test-driven development comes first. We do not build features until existing code passes all tests. We intentionally avoid chatter apps like Slack or Skype. Most questions do not require an immediate reply, making threads within the repository’s issue tracker our preferred method of communication. The biggest challenge for any developer is to minimize interruptions to help you spend most of your workday in the zone. Keeping chatter restricted to the issue tracking system keeps conversations organized and minimizes distractions. Genuine emergencies are handled over phone calls.

We are looking for a talented, self-starting full-stack developer to join our Sematext Cloud development team. We're looking for Security Engineers to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will build innovative payments products that delight both engineering and finance teams. As an early member of the engineering team, you will help shape the engineering culture of a fast-growing startup.

The core platform at Modern Treasury sits between our customers and their banks. In the same way that Twilio abstracted away the complexity of working with communication networks, we have built an easy-to-use, common interface into the banking system. Our customers use our products to do things like move money to or from their users, automate back-office work, and record their transaction ledgers. The companies that can use Modern Treasury move over $750 trillion a year via bank payments, as compared to only $2 trillion per year on card payments.

Our API is often the most critical piece of infrastructure that our customers use. We place a premium on building robust, scalable systems that can sustain a high volume of API calls and exceed the reliability requirements to move money at scale. We complement this with well-thought out interfaces for our users and pride in writing quality API docs.
