At Tellus, our vision is to radically improve eldercare with cutting-edge technology. We’ve built an AI-enabled device that is non-contact (no wearables or cameras) and smart. We deliver insights and alerts on critical health information and events like changes in vital signs or activity. As an engineer, you will be working on a novel and medically important dataset.

About the Role

We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to drive the development of our frontend and assist in building/integrating our backend. In this role, you will have the responsibility of shaping our web application as it evolves, balancing current needs with future features. This is the job for you if you want to be part of a tight-knit team that is building a timely product. This position is based in either San Francisco, CA or Tokyo, Japan.

What You’ll Do

  • Use your experience to build a stunning web app powered by a secure and highly scalable infrastructure, which work together to display insights from our ever-growing database of radar data

  • Collaborate with designers, hardware engineers, and ML engineers to take feature requests from concept to launch and beyond

  • Help to grow Engineering at Tellus, and set architecture and best practices that will last for years to come

What You’ll Need

  • Experience developing user-centric web applications that require performance and scale

  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services and experience managing and deploying cloud services

  • Knowledge of web libraries and JS frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue), with deep experience in one

  • Familiarity with the whole web stack, including APIs and relational & NoSQL databases

  • Familiarity with Figma/Sketch and strong styling skills

  • Communication and collaboration skills that allow you to successfully work across time zones and teams

  • Bonus: experience developing mobile applications using cross-platform development stacks such as React Native

Kalderos delivers technology that solves the challenges facing the US healthcare system. At Kalderos, we develop technology solutions with a focus on simplifying the complex coordination of drug discount programs from exhaustive data services to intelligent reporting to issue resolution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of outstanding developers to implement and continuously improve enterprise software solutions that are high-performance and that their users love.

  • Assist the IT leadership team in planning for and acting on requirements for constant growth and expansion of Kalderos’ technology environment.

  • Quickly gain expertise with Kalderos’ existing environment and business models and provide input on how to continually enhance both.

  • Adhere to and promote exacting software development and quality standards.

  • Continually educate yourself and extend both the depth and breadth of your technical and interpersonal skillsets.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-science or related technical field

  • 3+ years experience as a professional software engineer

  • Expertise with front-end (SPA) development (React/Redux preferred)

  • Experience working in a mature CI/CD development environment

  • Ambition, initiative and desire to learn new things and seek new responsibilities

  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and assignments

  • Excellent collaboration skills when working with internal staff and customers

  • The desire to solve tough problems

  • Ability to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous environment
